This is a vintage Pre-war William L. Lange Langstile banjo ukulele. William L. Lange is probably best known to the music world for his line of Paramount banjos, however, his company was responsible for the manufacture and distribution of several lines in addition to the Paramount brand. This particular example is in very nice vintage (1930’s) condition and includes the original case!
W.M. Lange banjos were known for having piano volume and harp quality tone. Lange was the pioneer in fine banjo manufacturing.
This Langstile banjo features a nine inch laminated maple rim (1 1/2″ thick, 2 1/4″ deep, veneered with African mahogany) offset tension hoop, 24 hexagon post brackets seated on a heavy rim band, flat tension hooks, open-end nuts, patent pegs, San Domingo mahogany neck, heavy rosewood fingerboard, inlaid pearl position ornaments and peg-head designs, special 17 fret scale (16 1/4″ scale length), scientifically constructed resonator back of metal and mahogany, hand-rubbed antique finish, dull color.
