Artifort Ribbon Chairs

Here is a vintage pair of Artifort Ribbon chairs designed by Pierre Paulin in 1966. This matching set of original Ribbon chairs remains in 100% all original and intact condition. With an original rich chocolate brown cloth upholstery, and a glossy white base, the overall appearance is ridiculously sexy.

The Artifort Ribbon lounge chair is one of the most beautiful sculptural design chairs of all time. This historically significant modern design icon was created by Dutch designer Pierre Paulin for Artifort in 1966. The Ribbon Chair continues to be made by Artifort in the Netherlands. The sculptural Ribbon Chair is one of the essential classics in the history of modern furniture design. Pierre Paulin was trained as a sculptor in Paris and used his own vision to create free-flowing chairs that transcend modernist sculptures. His Ribbon Chair is a beautiful example of applied art that complements any collection. The Ribbon is a clean, simple ergonomic space age form sculpted to fit the body. This beautiful modern chair can be used as a chaise lounge or accent chair in the living room or bedroom. It looks equally stunning in an office environment.

The Pierre Paulin Ribbon chair is made from a metal frame with horizontal springs, covered with foam and stretch fabric and a lacquered pressed wood pedestal. With an MSRP of $7,500 a piece for a new reissue, these are certain to be an absolute bargain!

Condition Issues: there is a very odd patched repair on one of the chairs, and the bases clearly exhibit their age. The fabric is vintage, and displays both wear and patina. The foam is completely dry, and will need to be replaced. Even though the chairs present nicely, they will need to be restored.
