Arne Jacobsen Oxford Chairs

Here is a vintage matching pair of Arne Jacobsen Oxford chairs for Fritz Hansen. These mid-century masterpieces are every bit appropriate alongside concurrently designed mid-centiry modern American pieces as they are amongst a Danish modern decor. The “Oxford” chair was designed by the legendary Arne Jacobsen for professors at St. Catherine’s college in Oxford, for which he later received an honorary doctorate. This original vintage set of matching low-back swivel base chairs with arm rests is in good condition, and are incredibly attractive. Originally created with an absurdly high-back to imply prestige, the low-back profile is much more proportionate, and the original armrests nicely complement the structure’s simplicity. There are several small cosmetic defects that can easily be restored, but even as-is, these chairs are beautiful.
