This is a used 2003 Gibson Les Paul Standard electric guitar. This particular AAA Premium Flame top example, serial number 03233354, is in very excellent condition and includes the original case! Having owned and enjoyed numerous Les Paul Standards and Les Paul Classics with Premium Plus tops, I have never seen another as unique and stunning as this impeccable Les Paul Standard. With a highly dimensional flame top that is bold and brilliant from every angle, this guitar reminds me more of an $8,000.00 limited edition ’59 Historic than a AAA Premium Les Paul Standard. For those who have seen enough to know, this guitar is something special.
Serial Number: 03233354
Pickup Resistance: 15.67Ω (bridge) 7.23Ω (neck)
Weight: 10 lbs. 8 oz
The subtle Cherry Sunburst finish is quite reminiscent of a slightly faded original ’59 ‘Burst, the coloration of which enhances the exotic tiger-striped figuring nicely. This is a really great-looking guitar, and it is equally as functional. Hundreds of additional dollars were invested into maximizing this Les Paul’s functionality. The pickups were upgraded to Seymour Duncans, and the guitar was refretted with slightly larger profile stock.
This version Standard features more vintage specs than most, and has; nickel hardware, gold top hat knobs, Kluson-style tulip-button tuners, and the traditional Cherry Sunburst/Cherry back and sides combination, but most importantly has a non-weight relieved/non-chambered body construction. Essentially, with the addition of an ABR-1 tune-o-matic bridge, this guitar would look and perform like a $5,000 R9.
