This is a used 1997 Gibson Les Paul Studio Double Cut electric guitar. This particular example, serial number 92737428, is in very good condition and includes a Gibson gig bag! This Studio model, of the short-lived 1990’s Les Paul DC product line, was the most basic and affordable of those offered, and represented the absolute best bargain. This now 15-year-old Made in U.S.A. Les Paul is very well made, and represents great “bang-for-your-buck!”
This Les Paul Studio DC features: a chambered mahogany body with the original black finish, mahogany set neck with a rosewood fingerboard, 24 frets, 490R (neck) and 498T (bridge) humbucking pickups, an aftermarket Badass chrome wrap-around bridge, Gibson Deluxe tuning machines, and a Gibson gig bag.
The guitar is in perfect structural condition with No breaks, No cracks, and No repairs. It was recently setup with .009 – .042 gauge strings, and it feels great. it appears the previous owner upgraded the bridge from the traditional wrap-around to the more expensive BadAss, with the compensated tun-o-matic-style bridge pieces. Additionally, the switch washer was exchanged for a black one, to match the general color scheme of the otherwise black and chrome guitar.
It weighs 5 lbs. and 15 oz., and is clearly a highly functional instrument for the money.
