This is a used 1997 Gibson Firebird V electric guitar in extremely fine, like new, condition with the original rare brown hard case with pink interior. This particular example, serial number 90667700, is amongst the best examples to be offered on eBay, and is much cleaner than those which routinely sell for over $1,600.00, so take advantage of this offer!
This discontinued version with incredibly accurate vintage specs., features: a Heritage Sunburst nitrocellulose finish, a 9-ply mahogany and walnut laminated neck-thru body construction, a bound rosewood fingerboard with trapezoid inlays, (2) P.A.F. (Patent Applied) sticker mini-humbuckers with pickup surrounds, factory nickel tune-o-matic and stop tailpiece, accurate nickel “banjo” tuning machines, firebird logo pickguard, chrome insert black top hat knobs, and the original USA-made brown & pink hard case with the original case latch card and the plastic pin in the locking mechanism that has never been set.
As mentioned, this example is particularly clean. While it does display some superficial wear around the strap pin mounted on the backside of the where the neck meets the body, it is otherwise extremely excellent. It even has the original protective plastic on the back of the control panel, having been there since purchased new. There are a couple insignificant pick scratches on the pickguard, but it remains very beautiful.
It is non-chambered, and weighs just over 8 lbs. The slim taper profile neck is vintage in approach, and feels amazing. The pickups sound great, and though the originals did not feature a tune-o-matic, it is an undeniable upgrade for those who are interested in intonating, playing, and recording the guitar.
