This is a used 1997 Fender ’62 Jazz Bass reissue electric bass guitar. This particular example, serial number V096818, is in very excellent all original condition and includes the original hard shell case, an original leather strap, and the original chrome bridge & pickup covers!
This ’62 reissue Jazz Bass features: a 3-tone Sunburst nitro finish, a Maple neck with a slab-board Rosewood fingerboard, (2) American vintage single coil pickups, vintage style reverse tuning machines, vintage style 4 saddle bridge, “C” shape neck, chrome and nickel hardware, stacked pot (stack knob) concentric controls, and the original brown hard shell case.
This example is in very nice original shape, but is not perfect. There is a significant scratch on the headstock, from shop wear, as the bass was never owned by anybody other than a music store and remained as “dead stock,” for quite a while. There are several other superficial scratches, and for some reason the strap pins were replaced. It includes all of the original accessories, but not any original ephemera or paperwork.
The bass plays and looks great, it is an absolutely fantastic bass for the money. It weighs a little over 10 pounds, and represents an awesome alternative to the $18,000.00 original!
