This is a used 1991 Fender 59 Bassman (reissue) electric guitar amplifier. This particular first-year model Made in USA example, serial number AA04133, is in near mint 100% all original condition and includes the original owner’s manual and corresponding paperwork! Hand-made in Brea, CA this early variety ’59 Bassman reissue features the same fantastic appointments and specs. as the original. It sounds great, looks like an original, and with it’s 45 watts pumping through 4×10″ blue frame Jensen speakers, is an all-around serious amp. While it may be too new to be collectible, there are definitely those whom prefer this generation Bassman reissue over those made in Corona which list for $2,000.00. Don’t hesitate because this closet classic is incredibly well-preserved, but not only does it look incredible, it sounds fantastic!

Interestingly, this extremely well-preserved example belonged to Doug Fieger of The Knack. Recently, I purchased a small stash of more recently made equipment that had belonged to him, and while he was a vintage enthusiast he owned any reissue instruments. From the looks of the amp, it does not appear to have been used. It looks and functions like new. A sticker inside the chassis suggests it was serviced with fresh tubes in ’97.
