1986 Roland TR-707

Here is a vintage 1986 Roland TR-707 “Rhythm Composer” drum machine. This particular example, serial number 727390, is in mint NOS condition and includes the original box, the original owner’s manual, the original MIDI guidebook, and the original operation guide. While not as popular as the TR-909, the 707 features some very similar sounds and is used by Aphex Twin, Laurent Garnier, Squarepusher, Luke Vibert, Freddy Fresh, Phil Collins, Marshall Jefferson and Plastikman to name a few. If you’ve been looking for a nice example, then search no further, this N.O.S. unit has been perfectly preserved!

The TR-707 features 16 different samples. It’s hi-hat, cymbals, and clap sounds are nearly identical to the TR-909. Each sample has its own volume, as well as, individual outputs, but is rather limited as it does not feature any tone controls. The Matrix display clearly maps out your pattern in an easy to read display panel. Also featured is MIDI in/out as well as DIN sync control. For programming, it features a shuffle and flam effect and its programming abilities are quite impressive.
