This is a vintage 1979 Guild F30 NT flat top acoustic guitar. This particular example, serial number 204820, is in extremely excellent, near mint, 100% all original condition and includes the original hard shell case, as well as, the original owner’s manual! This guitar was purchased from the original owner who had purportedly loaned it directly to Eric Clapton for a lunch time strum circa 2005, while he was recording The Road to Escondido while in the city by the same name. She explained she kept it in such immaculate shape because of the meaningful memento. While he never owned the guitar, the detailed story is quite interesting.
Meanwhile, it is a very exceptional example and it sounds great. Clapton was famously endorsed by Guild for many years, so it would be likely that he would have an affinity toward his favorite Guild F30(R) model.
This ’79 F30 features: a bound spruce top with the original Natural finish, mahogany back and sides, a mahogany neck with a rosewood fingerboard, rosewood bridge, open back tuning machines, the original owner’s manual, and the original hard shell case.
As mentioned, this example is near mint, and quite clean with only superficial evidence of very minimal storage wear. Even the case and the tags are in super clean condition. The guitar sounds surprisingly good, and it projects quite clearly.
