1978 Takamine F-455S

This is a vintage 1978 Takamine F-455S flat top acoustic guitar. This particular example, serial number 78032598, is in very excellent 100% all original condition! Closely modeled after the Mossman Golden Era guitars, the F-455S features; a solid spruce top, rosewood back and sides, Abalone “Tree of Life” inlays and binding, rosewood bridge with Abalone leaf accents, gold-plated Takamine stamped tuners, the original Dreadnought-sized brown hard shell case, and the original accessories. Famously used by Bob Dylan during his 1981 tour, this spectacular specimen is in extremely well preserved 100% all original condition. Highly crafted, this particular model is very rare, and was Takamine’s top-of-the-line acoustic instrument during the late-’70s to early-’80s. With very limited production totals, some suggest that the miniscule batches realized as few as 12 US import examples per year. As mentioned, this is a no issues example, with no breaks, no cracks, no repairs, and no modifications. This guitar happens to sound as special as it looks. With fantastic breath and tone, it sounds every bit as good as a concurrently produced Martin-branded instrument.
