This is a vintage 1978 Fender Telecaster Custom electric guitar. This particular example, serial number S813412, is in 100% all original near mint condition and includes an era appropriate hard case! Identical to the one used by Keith Richards, (with a Black finish, Black pickguard, and Maple neck), this custom-color Tele Custom is in absolutely pristine condition. Easy to play and great-sounding, the Tele Custom is the result of a super-obvious marriage between a traditional Tele template and a Seth Lover designed WRHP in place of the standard single-coil neck pickup. Intuitive, simple, and great, a Tele Custom is the preferred choice of many Tele enthusiasts.
Serial Number: S813412 (Headstock)
Pot Codes: 1377641, 1377644, 1377646 (CTS)
Pickup Stamp: 83218
Weight: 9 lbs. 2 oz.
This 1978 Tele Custom features; a 3-piece Ash body, original Black polyurethane finish, a 1-piece Maple neck w/skunk stripe, bullet truss rod adjustment, tilt neck micro adjustment, (1) Seth lover-deisnged wide range humbucking pickup, (2) volume (2) tone and a 3-way selector, Fender ‘F’ tuning machines by Schaller, serial number on the headstock, and an era appropriate hard shell case.
In addition to being in extremely clean, near mint, condition, this guitar plays, feels, and sounds like an N.O.S. example, with no fret wear, no playing wear, and extremely efficient and highly functional pickups. The neck is straight, and the action is super low thanks to a recent setup with .009 -.042 gauge strings.
Though purchased directly from the original owner, I am not quite sure why it does not include a Fender case or any extra accessories. According to him, this was the case he got it with, which is possible. If it was important to the new owner, an original Fender logo case and bridge/pickup cover could be purchased for relatively little, and it would complete this gorgeous package quite nicely.
