This is a vintage 1977 Gibson Les Paul Deluxe electric guitar. This particular example, serial number 72927503, features an extremely rare original Blue Sparkle finish and a slightly later Gibson “Chainsaw” hard plastic case. Unfortunately, this guitar was modified (routed) to accommodate non-original Seymour Duncan humbucking pickups.
The structural condition of this instrument is perfect, with no breaks, no cracks and no repairs. The tuning machines are original, as well as; the pickup selector toggle ring, 3 (of the 4) gold insert reflector knobs, the chrome Nashville bridge, the chrome stop tailpiece, and the chrome output jack plate.
The guitar has been professionally refretted, and the pots and pickup rings were changed when the pickups were installed sometime in the mid-’90s. The trussrod cover is also from that period.
This Les Paul plays and sounds great. It looks amazing, and the natural patina is quite attractive. It weighs just a hair over 10 pounds, which is common for those produced during this era.
