This is a vintage 1977 Roland Jazz Chorus model “JC-160″ electric guitar amplifier. This particular example, serial number 581258, is in very good all original condition and sounds absolutely incredible! The Jazz Chorus series became increasingly popular in the late 1970s and early 1980s new wave and post-punk scenes because of its clean yet powerful sound, durability and relatively low cost.
In many ways, the 4×10″ version is perhaps the best model, and the speaker configuration properply accentuates the powerful amplifier. Perfect for both guitar and keyboards, it would be very difficult to find a better amp for clean live application for a better price.
Features include: 2 channels, separate EQ for both, Distortion, Reverb, Vibrato, and Chorus effects. The original 4 x 10” Roland Musical Speakers sound incredible and do not exhibit fatigue or voice-coil distortion. Players include: Andy Summers, Robert Smith, The Edge, Joe Perry, Jeff Buckley, and Robert Fripp.
