Here is a vintage mid-1970s Ampeg Super Stud “GE-500” electric guitar. This particular example is in very excellent all original condition and includes the original hard shell case! A very cool Lawsuit-era MIJ guitar with fantastic-sounding pickups and advanced appointments, this Ampeg commissioned model may not be the highest quality instrument, but that’s what makes it such a great bargain.
Like the GET-100, the GET-500 features a Gibson SG inspired design, as well as, fancier gold hardware and; a multi-ply body with the original natural finish, a multi-ply maple neck with a bound maple fretboard, pearloid block inlays, (2) Maxon Pat. Pend. humbucking pickups, adjustable bridge and Bigsby vibrato tailpiece, a large profile black pickguard, gold Grover Imperial tuning machines, and the original hard shell case.
Aside from a missing switch tip, this example is in near perfect cosmetic condition and perfect functional shape. The action is good, though it could use a setup. There are no breaks, no cracks, no repairs, no issues whatsoever. The guitar weighs 8 lbs. and 14 oz.
