This is a vintage 100% original 1968 Harmony Jazz Artist No. H68 hollowbody electric guitar. This particular example, serial number 3572, is in very excellent, near mint, cosmetic condition! The H68 was approximately $200 new, features all solid woods, and is a fairly rare model to begin with, but finding this rare piece in such pristine shape is extremely unlikely. From my personal collection to yours, this is a remarkable find, and perhaps one of the coolest late-60’s Harmony-made guitars ever made.
Serial Number: 3572
Pickup Date Stamp: JUN 8 1968
Weight: 5 lbs. 12 oz.
This ’68 Harmony H68 features: a bound solid spruce top, the original nitrocellulose rich Iced Tea sunburst finish, bound solid maple back and sides, maple neck with a bound rosewood fingerboard and block inlays, (2) Golden Tone “Mustache” DeArmond pickups, rosewood adjustable bridge, deluxe German-made nickel tailpiece, open back Kluson tuning machines, and a non-original soft case.
As mentioned, this guitar is in extremely excellent all original condition with no issues (NO cracks, NO breaks, NO repairs) whatsoever. It has a surprisingly excellent neck angle with correspondingly great low action. The pickups present classic DeArmond tone, and the build quality overall is very substantial and more refined than your average Rocket or similar model.
