1967 Hofner Model 177B Exquisite

This is a vintage, circa 1967, Hofner Model 177B “Exquisite” electric guitar. This particular example is in good original condition, and happens to be a particularly rare model. The deluxe 177B features; fancy inlays, gold hardware, metal pickguards, and other over-the-top appointments which contributed to its original $485.00 price tag! Quite rare, clearly impressive, and simply stunning, this nearly fetish-level guitar is one for those who appreciate the beauty in the irregular, and find as much delight in the oddball rarities as those whom find comfort in the regular everyday.

The Model 177B features: the original sunburst finish, a laminated maple body construction, 1-piece maple neck, a rosewood fingerboard with ebony inserts and mother of pearl inlays, (3) humbucking “Staple” pickups, rocker bridge with damper, vibrato tailpiece, deluxe tuning machines, all gold hardware, and Hofner’s “organ effect” switch.

This guitar is in good functional condition. While it is in 100% all original shape, void of repairs, breaks, cracks, and/or modifications, it is missing several small pickguard screws. Otherwise, it is in perfectly intact shape.

It plays surprisingly well, weighs just over 8 pounds, and feels as good as other high-quality German-made Hofner guitars and basses!
