With no dings, no scratches, no playing wear, and not even weather-checking, this guitar is near perfect with no condition with not a single defect. If you’re a connoisseur of clean, or if you are just interested in owning that brand new acoustic guitar you remember in the local music shop almost 50 years ago… short of discovering one sealed in an original box, this is the guitar for you.
This ’66 Martin 000-18 features; the original natural lacquer finish, a bound body construction, a two-piece close-grain Sitka spruce top, Honduras mahogany back, sides, and neck with a Brazilian rosewood fingerboard, a Brazilian rosewood headstock overlay/veneer and bridge, original Tortoise shell material pickguard, individual Grover “Sta-Tite” tuning machines, and a non-original hardshell case.
Just to elaborate, this Martin 000-18 is structurally perfect: no breaks, no cracks, no repairs, no nothing. Perhaps a small superficial scratch somewhere on the back, otherwise it’s extremely clean and veritably unplayed.
Furthermore, the guitar does not need a dreaded neck reset, the action is fantastic, and it sounds better than most 1940’s 000-18s. For the money, there is no better instrument worth owning, this is a highly underrated model in near perfect condition. Collectors and players alike should be highly interested in owning this gorgeous 000-18.
