This here is a vintage 1966 Gibson ES-335TDC semi-hollowbody electric guitar. This particular example, serial number 800962, is in impeccably pristine 100% all original mint condition and includes the original hard shell case! Quite comically, though recorded by the original dealer as featuring an Ember Red finish, the original color is clearly Sparkling Burgundy Metallic. This specimen is in remarkable like-new, near-mint, absolutely perfect original condition. With no weather-checking, no playing wear, no finish fading, no hardware oxidation, no nothing… this is perhaps the best example in existence.

Potentiometer Codes: 13766xx
Weight: 8 lbs 4 oz
Features of this ’66 Gibson ES-335 include; the original vibrant and unfaded Sparkling Burgundy Metallic finish, bound laminated maple top and back, maple sides, 1-piece mahogany neck with 1 9/16″ nut width, bound Brazilian rosewood fingerboard with block inlays, (2) Patent No. sticker humbucking pickups, crown peghead inlay, Tune-O-Matic ABR-1 bridge with nylon saddles, double-line Kluson Deluxe tuning machines, the original B6 Bigsby tailpiece, black top hat knobs with silver inserts, all chrome hardware, and the original smooth hard shell case with yellow interior.
This guitar is so well-preserved and unbelievably virgin, that it feels odd to play. It’s literally like going back in time, and picking this off the wall from the original dealer in New Haven, CT circa 1966. Thankfully, the neck has a prodigious slim taper profile, and while the nut width is 1 9/16″, the depth is significant enough to be rather comfortable. The dealer installed Bigsby setup remains fantastic, and the guitar is a pure joy to play.
