Blackface Fender Champs and Vibro-Champs are surprisingly great for both recording and practice applications. Most associate the blackface Fender era with beautiful clean tone, and while that is certainly true, this little guy produces harmonically rich overdrive when pushed all the way.

The black vinyl tolex exterior is in extremely excellent condition. The silver/grey/black stripe grill cloth is only slightly, albeit evenly, faded: it still remains crisp and attractive with no snares, rips or frays. The appearance and structural integrity is also very fine. The control panel is crisp and clean with some few minor blemishes. All of the hardware is in very excellent condition, and the chassis is quite clean.

The Fender Vibro Champ utilizes; (1) 5Y3 (1) 6V6 and (2) 12AX7 tubes through 1×8″ Oxford 8EV Special Design Speaker. Since this particular example has been very well-preserved, it sounds as good as it looks. The 5Y3 (RCA), 6V6 (RCA) and 12AX7’s (Mullard) are all original and dated 1966.
