Here is a vintage 1966 Airline Model 7283 “JB Hutto” electric guitar. This particular example, serial number I-98665, is in very excellent all original condition and includes the original tremolo arm and bridge cover. Most notably used by JB Hutto, the 7283’s space-age mid-century form with bright bold color, resembles the lines, contours, and general appearance of something found within the Jetsen’s cartoon… hence also being referred to as the Jetson’s model. This premium example is in extremely clean all original condition with absolutely no issues. Similar examples have sold for upward of $3,000.00, so take advantage of this very reasonable offer!
This Airline 7283 features: a Res-O-Glass body construction with the original Red finish, a maple neck with jumbo 6-on-a-side Strat style headstock, a bound rosewood fingerboard with block inlays, (2) single coil pickups, double-line Kluson Deluxe tuning machines, adjustable bridge and tremolo system, and the original tremolo arm and bridge cover.
This guitar plays and feels great. The original vibrato is well-designed, and the tremolo arm is easy to use, The medium-large size neck profile is very comfortable, and the original frets are in very excellent shape. The neck is perfectly straight, and the action is nice and low along the entirety of the fretboard. It weighs just over 7 pounds (7 lbs. 2 oz.), and is a great all-around guitar. It does not appear to ever have sported the black contour line perimeter along the outside of the pickguard, and aside from natural wear on the chrome bridge cover, the guitar looks surprisingly clean.
