Here’s a vintage 1965 Gibson ES-125 3/4 semi-hollowbody electric guitar. This particular example, serial number 315357, is in very excellent all original condition and includes a non-original soft case! Both for the collector and the player, the ES-125 3/4 comes highly recommended by most guitarists regardless of style or taste. Made with the identical build-quality, precision, materials, and hardware, as all other full-size Gibson guitars, their 3/4-sized instruments have received the rightful reputation for being the best small/student guitars ever made. They have since evolved from being considered high-quality children’s instruments into being perceived as guitars with fantastic voices for recording applications, and perfectly petite for practice purposes. This example is very clean, feels great, and sounds fantastic.
Not to be confused by the different number designation, the ES-125 3/4 is identical to an ES-140T, though sometimes the same guitar was stamped with either model number depending on production year and style.
This ES-125 features: bound maple top and back, mahogany sides, the original Tobacco Sunburst finish, a one-piece mahogany neck with a Brazilian rosewood fingerboard, double-line Kluson Deluxe 3-in-a-row tuning machines, (1) P-90 pickup with a plastic cover, an adjustable rosewood bridge, a nickel diamond Trapeze tailpiece, gold “reflector” knobs, a 1 9/16″ nut width, a 22 3/4″ scale length, and a non-original soft shell case.
As can be seen in the photos, this example is in very fine 100% all original vintage condition. Aside from some superficial storage wear and some unfortunate finish texture on the back of the guitar from something floating inside the case. The hardware is incredibly attractive, and there is no other patina, discoloration, or fading to mention.
