The black vinyl tolex exterior is in near perfect condition with a couple of extremely minor, and seemingly inevitable, scuffs. The silver/black stripe grill cloth retains perfect structural integrity and has only faded slightly. The control panel is in exceedingly fine shape, as is the corresponding metal hardware. The chassis is remarkably crisp with no evidence oxidation, and the transformers look like new. Quite simply, cosmetically, this amp is very impressive, and some would venture to call it “mint.”

The amp works great and sounds amazing. The original cones in the original speakers are crisp and intact with excellent frequency response. There is no audible speaker fatigue nor voice coil distortion. It is exorbitantly loud but not harsh, and exudes a very musically sweet tonality sometimes absent from Twin Reverbs and other higher output amps. Perfect at both low and high volumes, this Fender Vibrolux Reverb epitomizes excellent black face Fender tone.
