Here is a vintage 1964 Martin F-65 hollowbody electric guitar. This particular example, serial number 193577, is in very excellent all original condition. Martin hollowbody electrics are just as well made as their famous acoustic counterparts, using very high-quality materials, superior seasoned craftsmanship, and the best components available, they have long been undervalued, in addition to, certainly being one of the cooler vintage guitars of its caliber.
This ’64 Martin F-65 features: a 1-piece maple top with the original sunburst finish, maple back and sides, a 1-piece mahogany neck, a Brazilian rosewood fingerboard with dot inlays, traditional acoustic block-shape headstock, (2) DeArmond Dynasonic pickups, Bigsby bridge and tailpiece, maple headstock veneer, single-line Kluson Deluxe tuning machines, and “F” sound holes.
Consistently quite nice with respect to playability, action, sound, etc., this example is no exception. The traditionally acoustic neck profile shape is very comfortable for electric playing, and the action is near perfect. With nice low action, great intonation, and a smooth Bigsby, this guitar plays fantastically well. Of course the DeArmonds are rich and musical, and highly complement the nature of a hollowbody construction.
