This is a vintage 1964 Fender Esquire/Telecaster electric guitar. This particular example, serial number L28470, is in nice, mostly original condition, and includes the original hard shell case. At one point it was owned by Billy Gibbons, but it is not known if he performed the modifications. It has a poorly routed neck pickup cavity and a non-original (though vintage) 1958 single-ply Tele guard.

This early-’64 Esquire features: original nitrocellulose Blonde finish, first variety Brazilian rosewood cap fingerboard on maple neck, single-ply 5-screw pattern pickguard (actual ’58 pickguard), non-original flat pole piece black bobbin bridge pickup, added neck pickup, Spaghetti logo decal, original single-line Kluson Deluxe tuning machines, original bridge and saddles, all original hardware, and all of the aforementioned accoutrements.
