This is a vintage 1963 Supro Dual Tone “S424” electric guitar. This particular example, serial number G3387, is in very excellent 100% all original condition. The Dual Tone’s space-age mid-century form resembles the lines, contours, and general appearance of something found within the futuristic Jetson’s cartoon…and is also constructed of the same Res-O-Glass material the 7283 “Jetson’s” model became famous for.
This 1963 Supro Dual Tone features: a Res-O-Glass body construction with the original White finish, a maple neck with a black veneer headstock, a bound rosewood fingerboard with block inlays, (2) single coil pickups, single-line Kluson Deluxe tuning machines with plastic tulip buttons, and a reissue adjustable rosewood bridge.
This guitar plays and feels great. The medium-large size neck profile is very comfortable, and the original frets are in very excellent shape. The neck is perfectly straight, and the action is nice and low along the entirety of the fretboard. It weighs 7 lbs 1 oz, and is a great all-around guitar. The black pickguard border detail is still mostly intact, though has notoriously faded from pick wear. There are no stress cracks, no odd finish checking, and no minor plastic hardware issues.
