1962 National Newport Map Bass

This is a vintage 1962 National Newport Map Res-O-Glass vintage electric bass guitar. This particular example, serial number T76012, is in very excellent all original condition. Quite stunning and unreasonably attractive the National Map bass is perhaps the best-looking short-scale bass ever made. With two pickups, one being a secret transducer pickup within the bridge, it also happens to be fairly versatile and pragmatically dynamic. One knob controls volume output, while the other enables a blend between the 2 pickups.

Serial Number: T76012

Pot codes: 304-6149 (Stackpole)
Weight: 8 lbs. 14 oz.

This ’62 National Newport Map bass features: a Res-O-Glass body construction with the original White high-gloss finish, a maple neck, a rosewood fingerboard with “shark” inlays, (1) humbucking pickup and (1) piezo style bridge pickup, and a trapeze tailpiece. A non-original hard case is included.

It has been professionally setup with black tape flatwound RotoSound strings, and sports incredibly fast action. It feels great, is absolutely effortless to play, and sounds remarkably good. Don’t miss this chance to potentially buy the original Made in USA Newport Bass for the same price as the junky Made In China replica.
