The 6G5 Pro Amp utilizes (2) 6L6, and (6) 7025 tubes through an original 1 x 15″ Oxford 15M6-1 Custom Design Fender speaker. The amp produces a very specific and unique sound unlike any other vintage amp. Producing perfectly clean, robust tone with immense headroom, it would be quite an obvious choice for pedal steel, country twang, sweet surf and subtle R&B riffs.
The original rough brown tolex is very intact with very little signs of wear and use. The original “Wheat” grill cloth is extremely intact with one very small, though clearly obvious, snag. All of the hardware is original and in very excellent shape. The original brown face panel is nice with less than expected, albeit minimal, signs of use.
As listed above, this example has all the original transformers. This well-preserved example still has the original tubes, capacitors and power cable. But it was serviced and all of the leaky capacitors were replaced int the electrolytic’s tray. Otherwise, the amp is completely original.
The original 15″ Oxford speaker is in excellent shape and sounds amazing. The cone is original, and it does not exhibit speaker fatigue nor voicecoil distortion.
This amp works perfectly and sounds fantastic. It is somewhat like a Vibroverb, but it is less scooped with more mids. A truly enjoyable amp that invokes a pleasant bonding experience, this is a great amp to just plug-in-and-play.
