This is a vintage 1961 Silvertone 1429 semi-hollowbody electric guitar. This particular example is in absolutely pristine, 100% all original, condition and includes the original two-tone soft case with red plush interior. Made by Harmony of Chicago, this top-of-the-line model features advanced appointments, including; a trio of DeArmond pickups, 6(!) control knobs, upgraded German hardware and an incredibly exotic flame maple top.
This instrument is a one owner guitar. It was purchased from the original owner’s family, and per their recollection, it was never used. It is in near perfect all original condition, with no breaks, no cracks, no repairs, no modifications and no issues whatsoever.
The Silvertone 1429 features: a laminated maple hollowbody construction, double bound body with 5-play binding on top and single-ply binding on the back, a maple neck with a bound fingerboard and block inlays, 3-on-a-side individual Kluson tuning machines, (3) DeArmond single coil pickups: each of which have on/off switched and separate volume/tone controls, nickel-plated tailpiece made in Germany, tortoise shell plastic pickguard and switch plate, floating bridge, Brazilian rosewood pickup mounts, original black/white plastic strap buttons, (6) original clear control knobs and the original gray and white two-tone soft case with red plush interior.
Aside from being preserved in immaculate condition, this guitar is in perfect functional shape. The neck is as straight as an arrow, the truss rod turns with ease and the guitar sounds phenomenal. The neck profile is comfortable and the action is as good as it gets.
