1960 Fender Jazzmaster

This is a vintage 1960 Fender Jazzmaster electric guitar. This incredibly rare example, serial number 54799, is in 100% all original condition and features a custom color (custom ordered) blue-to-silver sunburst sparkle finish. Beleived to be the exact same guitar used by Dick Dale’s Del-tones rhythm guitar player in the film “Beach Party,” it can be seen quite clearly in two different scenes. In fact, in Beach Party the entire band can be seen playing Fender instruments sharing the exact same “Surf Burst” sparkle finish! Furthermore, this custom Jazzmaster features one of the earliest green guards, as well as, an A-profile (1.5″ wide custom shape) neck with incredible birdseye figuring (typically reserved for custom color and/or custom ordered instruments, such as this.) A similar sparkle Jazzmaster with an identical finish can be seen in several Fender books, including Fender: The Golden Age, however the clear coat on the one pictured has faded, resulting in a more greenish hue. The last photo reveals the identical sparkle color to that famously used on Fender Rhodes keyboard in the mid-’60s. The color, spray pattern, density, flake size, etc., are clearly identical when the body of this guitar is laid upon the top of a ’64 Fender Rhodes. This is an incredibly rare instrument, and is perhaps the only one of it’s kind.
