This is a vintage 1956 Fender Bandmaster electric guitar amplifier. This “5E7″, 3×10″ configuration, Tweed Bandmaster with a leather handle, is one of Fender’s most desirable ’50s amps. It comes with a reissue exact spec. Victoria cover, and remains in very nice all original cosmetic condition.
Serial Number: S00515
Tube Chart Stamp: FA (Jan 1956)
Speaker Code: 220550 (Jensen P10R)
This ’59 Fender Bandmaster features: (1) 5U4, (2) 6L6, (2) 12AX7, and (1) 12AY7 tubes through 3 x 10” Jensen P10R Special Design speakers.
As previously mentioned, most of the amp’s components are original. The Jensen P10R’spaper cones are all intact and crisp, and all Astron caps are well preserved and functional. Even most of the tubes appear to be original, while also being in perfect working order. The power chord has been replaced with a more modern 3-prong, and the handle appears to be an excellent replacment.
The amp is incredibly efficient sounding, with much more articulation and head room than most. Instead of collapsing and sounding over compressed, the signal remains highly balanced at all volumes. Warm, yet with a musical rigidity most Tweed amps lack, this is a beautiful sounding amp with any guitar.
