1955 Silvertone Espanada

This is a vintage 1955 Silvertone Espanada 1385L vintage electric guitar. This classic vintage Silvertone is in very excellent condition, and features: a 16.25″ double-bound laminated archtop body, a spruce top, maple back and sides, very unique and beautiful steel bracing, an entirely black finish, a bound maple neck with a rosewood fingerboard and block inlays, P-13 pickups (P-90s wound by Gibson with a different nickel cover), open-back Waverly tuning machines, white plastic parts, and an original gray hardshell case. The “S-55” date stamp, indicates a Spring of 1955 production.

As stated, this particular example is in extremely excellent condition, and is 100% ALL original with no issues. There are no breaks, no cracks, and no repairs. There is very light playing wear on the guitar: no belt buckle rash, and only slight arm and neck wear. The body exhibits fine weather checking on the body, and almost no weather checking on the neck. The frets display no playing wear and are entirely intact! The neck is straight, and the action is low.

The guitar weighs 6 pounds 14 ounces, plays extremely well, and the medium-sized soft C-shape profile is very comfortable. The pickups sound awesome, and are very efficient, loud, and robust. The guitar is extremely versatile, and can produce great tones for music from jazz to rockabilly to rock. The 10 gauge strings feel like 9s. This guitar plays and sounds as good as it looks. Don’t miss out on this great vintage guitar!

This guitar is in perfect working condition, and good vintage cosmetic condition with weather-checking and some signs of play wear. There is a missing bit of the top of the bridge, but it is in otherwise great shape. This Espanada also features Gibson P13 pickups, which were the predecessors to the P90.
